We at Pathways FMHS understand that taking the step to reach out for help from a total stranger requires courage and can be a little scary at first.  So whether your counseling is court-connected and/or required, or whether you initiated on your own the process of getting professional help, we thought we would just go ahead and give you some insight into what you can expect getting started.  In the first few sessions you and your therapist will exchange information in order to clarify the problems that we need to address.  Through this clarification, you and your therapist will work together to identify the goals you want to reach as well as map out some specific strategies to help you achieve those goals or resolve the problems.  A therapist may choose from a wide variety of therapeutic techniques; so your feedback is very important to in determining which of those will be the most useful for you and in making any adjustments to your treatment planning over the course of your therapy experience.  We offer counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and families facing challenges that may occur.
